"Hair" today, gone tomorrow?

Let it fly in the breeze
And get caught in the trees
Give a home to the fleas
In my hair
A home for fleas
A hive for bees
A nest for birds
There ain't no words
For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder
Of my...
Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as I can grow it
MY HAIR!
~ Hair Musical: James Rado & Gerome Ragni
Hi Everyone!
Today was Alan's first day of chemotherapy. He and Terri, his sister-in-law, arrived this morning - bright and early - to receive what amounted to a "I'm-going-to-beat-this-cancer-cocktail!"
Last week he had a port-a-cath surgically implanted just under the skin in the upper part of his left chest. His chemotherapy was administered through that cath today. He will also be on a continuous chemo-pump which will be refilled each Monday for the next three weeks. He will then begin a round of radiation followed by another round of chemotherapy.
Alan's positive and joyful attitude is truly inspirational! Continue to keep him, his family, Ronnie, and his care-givers in your thoughts and prayers.
Also, if you plan to visit, please take every health precaution as his immune system will be virtually non-existent.
Love from him to all...

Hey Alan! I haven't posted in a while. I thought I would be the first to post on this update.

I want you to know that I am continuing to pray for you daily. Our church family is keeping you in their prayers.

By the way, did you know that God's grace is sufficient?????? Of course you know that. With foremost God, secondly family and friends you are going to complete these treatments (maybe with a little less hair :) and when you are done with them we are going to rejoice with you!

Don't forget, focus, focus, focus--God is working all around you. It is truly an amazing thing to experience!

Love in Christ!

FROM MIKE AND DENNIS

Hey Mr. Alan and Nurse Ronnie, Our Favorite Cousin Candy Striper!
Dennis and I visited Milledgeville this weekend to celebrate my Mom and Granny Sims' respective birthdays this weekend. We took Etta out to lunch also and she gave us a good update on you. We are so glad to see that you are doing so very well. A friend of mine is almost finished with his 31st chemor treatment (!) and he is doing great - it looks like he will prevail over his big C as I know you will too. Let us know if we can do anything or if you need any treats from Atlanta at any time.

We hope to see you soon around the holidays!

Mike and Dennis

Good evening dear Alan,

I want you to know that I have been lifting you up in prayer every day. We prayed for you at Beulah on Sunday and your friends in faith send you their love and care.

Sunday the title of my sermon was Give Your Burdens to Christ - and the Scripture was from the Gospel of Matthew - Come to me all who are burdened and weary and I will give you rest.

Remember Alan, He never promised we would not have burdens - He did promise that he would help us bear those burdens and he would never give us burdens we could not bear.

And remember that wonderful old hymn - I must tell Jesus all of my trials, I can not bear these burdens alone, I must tell Jesus, all of my trials, Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.

I love you Alan and you are in my heart and in my prayers.
